distractions - Dr. Laura's secret obsession

Want to know what Dr. Laura Schisslinger is doing when not busy berating callers by repeatedly calling them the "N" word? Maybe she is giving advice on how to get a dirty sweaty man cleaned up ~ "...take a shower with him".

No, she's also making jewelry! She is particularly fond of "WEIRD PEARLS"! But likes weird stuff in general. Who would have known?

  1. Not really WEIRD. Stones like Citrines and Tourmalines are very nice gemstones and she has a real taste for all things lapidary. Its the bling excess that I find so excessive. Now if I could only hook her up with my Brazilian jeweler who really knows this stuff and could keep her from getting obviously ripped off.

  2. I call attention to "weird" because she actually uses this word several times during the YouTube video. She says it with emphasis, particularly when talking about oddly shaped pearls. Personally, I don't find ANY gemstones weird.

  3. I must have glazed over when watching it. Is she projecting her own weirdness onto her choices of gems, semi-prec. stones and bling? Yes it seems. Is this a common trait for women who get alot of money? Sure. Men too. Like a tour of yet another vast closet of shoes but I guess she is more interesting in her choice of items. Yes, to find a pearl "weird" would suggest she deals with alot of weirdness and uses the hobby collection to unload it, taking the role of a Dr. L apologist now

  4. What exactly is she a doctor of?

  5. physiology which, according to Wikipedia is: "is the science of the functioning of living systems. It is a subcategory of biology. In physiology, the scientific method is applied to determine how organisms, organ systems, organs, cells and biomolecules carry out the chemical or physical function that they have in a living system"

    Sounds like a catchall discipline

  7. It's a real field, there's a Nobel in it, she's got a real PhD.

It's just that her career has nothing to do with the doctorate, so it's not like you have to consider that for any reason. Taking an expert in one field as an expert in another is one of the worst mistakes anybody can make, actually.
